Humanism is a non-theistic worldview with ethical values informed by scientific knowledge and motivated by kindness and compassion. At the foundation of those values is an affirmation of the dignity of every human being.
Humanist Hale aspires to be a group of like-minded people on the island of Maui who are interested in sharing ideas, forming community, and coming together to celebrate humanity, science, and art.
Humanists believe we can understand the world through science. We believe it is possible to lead good, happy, and meaningful lives without the need to believe in a supernatural power. We believe we should treat each other with kindness and respect. We believe we have a responsibility to respect and care for one another and the natural world.
Humanists tend to advocate for human rights, free speech, progressive policies, and democracy.
